All amateur operators, no matter what class of license, are welcome to make
application to and join the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARESŪ) one
of the Public Service branches of the American Radio Relay League (ARRLŪ)
that specializes in communications during time of disaster or emergency. You
do not have to belong to any radio club, or even the ARRL, to be a member of
ARESŪ.
You make application through your local Emergency Coordinator whose name
and address can be found online here.
If you have any questions about the ARESŪ program or the RACES program and
are a resident of District/Region One, I will be more than glad to answer them. You
can send them to me at:
or you can find my address and phone
number on the Western
Washington Section page on the ARRL website.
I look forward to growing the number of trained emergency
communicators we have in the District and keeping those of you who are
currently enrolled in the ARESŪ interested and trained in the latest
techniques of emergency communications (EMCOMM).
I am looking forward to meeting each and everyone of you in the near
future either in person or on the air. You can find me normally on the
145.190 or 444.500 the Lyman Hill repeaters or on HF on 7268.5 kHz. or 3970 kHz.
at almost any time.
73,
Bill Frazier,
